Central Connecticut State
Decision sheet

Connecticut · Research checked 2026-07-02 · School research, not an aid offer

The starting point

Central Connecticut State awards an automatic, admission-based merit scholarship of $1,000-$3,500/year on a published high-school-GPA grid with no separate application; an Honors Program scholarship of $4,500/year is the largest stackable add-on.

More than one award path. Some awards use published academic thresholds. Others have different selection criteria. A score chart does not describe every award at this school.

Awards to discuss

Central Merit Scholarship (Top Tier)

$3,500 per year · Published amount

Recorded as automatic on academic criteria; all conditions apply.

GPA: 4.0 - 3.80

Eligibility: Newly admitted first-year student; awarded as part of the admission process; no scholarship application necessary

Renewal: Page states many of these scholarships are 'renewable contingent upon the recipient continuing to meet enrollment and academic achievement criteria.' A specific renewal GPA is not published for the admission-based merit grid.

Other terms: Highest band of the automatic admission-based grid. No application required and not subject to an appeal process. CCSU is test-optional, so the band is set by high-school GPA.

Ask before you decide

  1. Which entering-year policy and residency category apply to us? What are the admission and scholarship deadlines?
  2. What grades and credits are required to renew, and for how many terms?
  3. How would other school awards or outside scholarships change the offer?

Recorded stacking policy: CCSU's Honors Program scholarship explicitly may be combined with other Central scholarships 'only to the extent allowed by University policy' — i.e., stacking is permitted but capped by an unpublished University policy. No published rule was found on ccsu.edu describing how third-party OUTSIDE scholarships displace institutional merit aid.
