Eckerd
Decision sheet

Florida · Research checked 2026-06-03 · School research, not an aid offer

The starting point

Eckerd's automatic academic merit ($18,000-$27,000) is generous but explicitly TUITION-ONLY, so it can't touch the ~$26K of housing/food/fees that make up the rest of the bill.

More than one award path. Some awards use published academic thresholds. Others have different selection criteria. A score chart does not describe every award at this school.

Awards to discuss

First 3 of 6 recorded awards, in chapter display order. This is a selection, not a ranking. Read the full chapter for all awards. Amounts retain the original units and conditions; confirm the entering year with the school.

Academic Achievement Scholarship (First-Year)

$18,000-$27,000 per year · Published range

Recorded as automatic on academic criteria; all conditions apply.

GPA: Based on internally calculated high-school GPA

Eligibility: Students admitted without conditions are automatically considered; for non-visa (domestic) students; awarded regardless of financial need

Renewal: Renewable for up to four years; students must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA (and 67% completion ratio for federal SAP).

Other terms: TUITION-ONLY: 'These scholarships may be applied to tuition charges only.' Range stated for Fall 2026 entrants.

Transfer Scholarship

$11,000-$18,000 per year (GPA grid) · Published range

Recorded as automatic on academic criteria; all conditions apply.

GPA: 3.5-4.0 = $18,000; 3.0-3.49 = $16,000; 2.75-2.99 = $11,000 (cumulative GPA of all previous college work)

Eligibility: Must be admitted without conditions; amount notified shortly after admission

Renewal: Available for up to four years; 2.0 cumulative GPA to renew (Eckerd merit awards renew at 2.0).

Other terms: Distinct transfer GPA grid (separate from the first-year academic award).

International Student Grant

Up to $27,000 · Variable or qualified amount

Recorded as automatic on academic criteria; all conditions apply.

Eligibility: International first-year applicants who require a visa and have not taken college coursework are automatically considered; international students are not eligible for need-based aid

Renewal: Not marked as renewable in this record. Ask the school whether renewal is available.

Other terms: Parallel automatic award for visa-requiring international students.

Ask before you decide

  1. Which entering-year policy and residency category apply to us? What are the admission and scholarship deadlines?
  2. What grades and credits are required to renew, and for how many terms?
  3. How would other school awards or outside scholarships change the offer?

Recorded stacking policy: Total awards cannot exceed the cost of attendance (a COA cap). The need-based Eckerd College Grant may at any point be replaced in whole or part by a named (donor) scholarship. Veterans' Yellow Ribbon institutional grant explicitly REPLACES any previously awarded Eckerd scholarship or grant.

The research date is not a guarantee that a policy still applies. Confirm current amounts, deadlines and conditions with the school before making a financial decision.
