Hardin-Simmons
Decision sheet

Texas · Research checked 2026-07-02 · School research, not an aid offer

The starting point

Hardin-Simmons awards a published, automatic GPA/test-score merit grid of $14,000-$25,000 per year set at admission, plus an automatic $44,000 ($11,000/yr) Texas Scholarship floor for Texas residents — but it does NOT stack academic awards (highest dollar-value only) and every award is capped at tuition.

More than one award path. Some awards use published academic thresholds. Others have different selection criteria. A score chart does not describe every award at this school.

Ask before you decide

  1. Which entering-year policy and residency category apply to us? What are the admission and scholarship deadlines?
  2. What grades and credits are required to renew, and for how many terms?
  3. How would other school awards or outside scholarships change the offer?

Recorded stacking policy: HSU does NOT stack its own academic scholarships — a student who qualifies for more than one is offered only the single highest dollar-value award. Every HSU-funded award is tuition-specific and cannot exceed the cost of tuition. Outside (third-party) scholarships may fund any cost-of-attendance area, but total aid cannot exceed COA, and a large amount of outside money can reduce federal aid if a FAFSA was filed.
