Manchester
Decision sheet

Indiana · Research checked 2026-07-02 · School research, not an aid offer

The starting point

Manchester publishes a clean GPA-only merit grid ($12,000-$24,000 for freshmen) plus a Scholarship Day pipeline that can upgrade Presidential Scholars to a Trustee Scholarship or a full-cost Honors Scholarship covering tuition, fees, room and board.

More than one award path. Some awards use published academic thresholds. Others have different selection criteria. A score chart does not describe every award at this school.

Awards to discuss

First 3 of 4 recorded awards, in chapter display order. This is a selection, not a ranking. Read the full chapter for all awards. Amounts retain the original units and conditions; confirm the entering year with the school.

Academic Scholarships — First-Year Students (Director's Award through Presidential Scholarship)

$12,000-$24,000 · Published range

Recorded as automatic on academic criteria; all conditions apply.

GPA: Determined by unweighted cumulative high school GPA: under 3.0 = $12,000; 3.0-3.24 = $15,000; 3.25-3.49 = $18,000; 3.5-3.89 = $21,000; 3.9+ = $24,000

Eligibility: Each admitted student's application is reviewed by hand.

Renewal: Awards are renewable for up to four years; requires full-time enrollment (minimum of 12 credit hours per semester); minimum college cumulative GPA of 3.0 for Presidential Scholarships and 2.0 plus satisfactory academic progress for other scholarships.

Other terms: GPA-only grid; no test-score tiers published. Scholarships may only be applied to undergraduate tuition expenses.

Academic Scholarships — Transfer Students (Director's Award through Presidential Scholarship)

$12,000-$24,000 · Published range

Recorded as automatic on academic criteria; all conditions apply.

GPA: Transfer grid: 2.0-2.49 = $12,000; 2.5-2.99 = $15,000; 3.00-3.24 = $18,000; 3.25-3.49 = $21,000; 3.5+ = $24,000

Renewal: Awards are renewable for up to four years; minimum college cumulative GPA of 3.0 for Presidential Scholarships and 2.0 plus satisfactory academic progress for other scholarships; full-time enrollment required.

Other terms: Same award names and dollar amounts as the freshman grid but with lower GPA bands for transfers.

Honors Scholarship

Full tuition + fees + room & board · Published coverage or package

Not recorded as automatic on grades and scores. Read the selection rules.

GPA: Must first earn the Presidential Scholarship (3.9+ unweighted HS GPA on the freshman grid)

Eligibility: Must apply to the Honors Program by Dec 1 and attend Scholarship Day (interview with faculty and current students); one Honors Scholarship is awarded per year.

Renewal: Honors Scholars must maintain a 3.5 CGPA, maintain active status in the Honors Program, and graduate with Honors & Achievement from the Honors Program. Awarded for up to four years.

Other terms: Replaces the Presidential Scholarship; it does not stack on top of it. The Jan 2026 news page lists the award as covering full tuition, student fees, on-campus housing and meal plan for up to four years (two recipients named for Fall 2026).

Ask before you decide

  1. Which entering-year policy and residency category apply to us? What are the admission and scholarship deadlines?
  2. What grades and credits are required to renew, and for how many terms?
  3. How would other school awards or outside scholarships change the offer?

Recorded stacking policy: Manchester does not publish a general stacking or outside-scholarship displacement policy on its scholarships or award pages. What it does state: institutional scholarships may only be applied to undergraduate tuition expenses, and the top competitive awards (Honors, Trustee) REPLACE the Presidential Scholarship rather than stacking with it. Outside scholarships must be reported to Student Financial Services, but the pages do not say whether or how they reduce institutional aid.
