Renewal risk profile
Marietta's renewal bar is achievable for steady students but isn't generous. Most awards require a cumulative GPA in the 3.0–3.4 band plus full-time enrollment. Audit the strictest tier on this school's list before assuming the four-year value is locked in.
- First-Year Scholarships, Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 (1835 Founders / Marietta Distinction / Compass / Riverside / Pioneer): Full-time enrollment
- International Scholarships, Fall 2026 and Spring 2027: See notes

How families lose this aid
- Missing the competition calendar.
Premier Scholars Day is January 31, 2026 (invitation, 4.0 GPA); the Harrison full-tuition statement is due March 15, 2026; McDonough requires program acceptance by January 10, 2026; Choose Ohio First priority is February 1, 2026 (extended to March 1, 2026 'as priority' per the page).
- Moving off campus with the Marietta College Grant, Marietta Promise, or a Premier/Harrison scholarship.
The Marietta College Grant is for on-campus residents only ('Students approved to live off campus are not eligible'); Marietta Promise renewal requires living on campus; Premier and Harrison recipients are 'required to live on campus.'
Renewal questions families ask

Rules that bite at Marietta
The renewal trip wires we'd flag in a custom playbook, derived from Marietta's own tier rules and not generic advice.
- renewalFirst-Year Scholarships, Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 (1835 Founders / Marietta Distinction / Compass / Riverside / Pioneer): renewal floor that quietly knocks awards out
Automatically renewed for a total of four years (per the grid footnote). Must enroll full-time in first bachelor's degree program. A single rough term can end a four-year award here without warning if the GPA floor isn't met cumulatively.
How Marietta compares across our verified dataset
- 669 of 751 verified schools publish at least one four-year renewable merit award.
Marietta is one of them. The cohort minority (82 schools) only awards one-year scholarships, which means the four-year value families assume on a brochure quote isn't guaranteed at every school.
