The starting point
Michigan Tech runs parallel automatic stat-based merit programs — Presidential Scholars ($1,000-$5,500) for Michigan residents and National Scholars ($11,000-$18,000) for non-residents — but several non-resident tuition-equalizing awards (Alumni Legacy, College Partners, Military Family) cannot be combined with the main scholarship.
More than one award path. Some awards use published academic thresholds. Others have different selection criteria. A score chart does not describe every award at this school.

Ask before you decide
- Which entering-year policy and residency category apply to us? What are the admission and scholarship deadlines?
- What grades and credits are required to renew, and for how many terms?
- How would other school awards or outside scholarships change the offer?
Recorded stacking policy: Michigan Tech's tuition-equalizing / resident-rate awards behave as 'one award only' against the main scholarship: the non-resident Alumni Legacy Award cannot be combined with the National Scholars Program, University Student Aid Grant, Military Family Education Award, or International Ambassador Scholarship; the Military Family Education Award cannot be combined with National Scholars, Alumni Legacy, or University Student Aid Grant; and the College Partners Pathway Award cannot be combined with the National Transfer Scholarship. No general outside-scholarship displacement rule was published on these pages.
