Morehouse
Decision sheet

Georgia · Research checked 2026-07-02 · School research, not an aid offer

The starting point

Morehouse (HBCU, men's) considers newly admitted freshmen automatically for institutional scholarships from the admission application, but the dollar amounts are withheld behind a scholarship portal and donor criteria — the published awards (Academic, Athletic, Talent, Oprah Winfrey) list eligibility and renewal rules, not amounts. (DRAFT)

Selection beyond grades and scores. These awards are not recorded as automatic on grades and scores. Read each award's selection rules, application steps and dates. Meeting a minimum is not an award offer.

Awards to discuss

First 3 of 5 recorded awards, in chapter display order. This is a selection, not a ranking. Read the full chapter for all awards. Amounts retain the original units and conditions; confirm the entering year with the school.

Institutional Scholarships (Automatic Scholarship Match for newly admitted students)

Amount not published · Published award terms

Not recorded as automatic on grades and scores. Read the selection rules.

Eligibility: Newly admitted freshmen automatically considered based on the admission application; must meet criteria established by scholarship donors; FAFSA strongly encouraged. Morehouse Online students are NOT eligible

Renewal: Continued eligibility requires meeting donor criteria, maintaining GPA / community service hours / other conditions, and submitting required documents.

Other terms: Dollar amounts are not grid-published; awards are matched in an Institutional Scholarship Portal (AcademicWorks). Current students apply via the portal.

Must earn 28-36 institutional credit hours/year, file FAFSA, maintain continuous full-time Fall+Spring enrollment. Renewable a maximum of 8 semesters; cannot be used for summer courses.

Other terms: Initial criteria and renewal cliffs are published, but the award DOLLAR AMOUNT is not. Students cover any credit hours over 18 per semester.

Renewal: Maintain 2.0 cumulative GPA; earn 9 credits/semester or 24/year; file FAFSA; remain NCAA-compliant. Renewed annually; cover up to 36 credit hours/year. May be reduced or cancelled for ineligibility, misconduct, voluntarily quitting the sport, or transfer notification.

Ask before you decide

  1. Which entering-year policy and residency category apply to us? What are the admission and scholarship deadlines?
  2. What grades and credits are required to renew, and for how many terms?
  3. How would other school awards or outside scholarships change the offer?

Recorded stacking policy: Institutional awards are non-refundable and applied directly to the student's account FIRST, before all other eligible aid. They cannot be used for summer term, Study Abroad, or Dual Degree programs, and Morehouse Online students are ineligible. The page does not address how outside/private scholarships are treated.

The research date is not a guarantee that a policy still applies. Confirm current amounts, deadlines and conditions with the school before making a financial decision.
