The starting point
Ohio Wesleyan awards automatic merit to all admits starting at $25,000 plus a stack of add-on awards (visit, referral, out-of-state, scout), but caps total institutional aid at the cost of tuition and lets its top full-tuition awards replace rather than supplement.
More than one award path. Some awards use published academic thresholds. Others have different selection criteria. A score chart does not describe every award at this school.

Merit Scholarships
Starting at $25,000 · Published award terms
Recorded as automatic on academic criteria; all conditions apply.
Eligibility: Academic achievement in high school is the primary consideration; all admitted students are considered automatically with no separate application.
Renewal: Not explicitly stated for the base merit award on this page; the page describes these as recurring awards. Confirm renewal GPA/standing with the aid office.
Other terms: OWU does not publish a GPA/test award grid; awards are determined holistically from the academic record and communicated with or shortly after the admission decision. 'Most starting at $25,000' — no published maximum for the base merit tier.

Wesleyan Scholarship
Up to $8,000 · Variable or qualified amount
Not recorded as automatic on grades and scores. Read the selection rules.
Eligibility: Top applicants automatically considered; awarded via the OWU Scholarship Competition (essay + group discussion). No separate application to be considered.
Renewal: Renewable for four years (participants who complete the competition essay and group discussion receive a minimum $1,000 additional award, 'stackable and renewable for four years').
Other terms: Offered IN ADDITION to other merit scholarships. Competitive (decided through the Scholarship Competition event), not stat-automatic.

Ask before you decide
- Which entering-year policy and residency category apply to us? What are the admission and scholarship deadlines?
- What grades and credits are required to renew, and for how many terms?
- How would other school awards or outside scholarships change the offer?
Recorded stacking policy: Total institutional aid is capped at the cost of tuition. Many awards stack (Wesleyan, Visit, Referral, Bishop Bound, Meek), but the two full-tuition awards (Schubert; Scout $38,000) and the Clergy award replace/do not stack with base merit.
