The starting point

Every incoming OBU freshman gets an automatic, stat-based academic award of at least $15,000/year, scaling up a published GPA/test grid to $20,000/year, with separate full-tuition competitions (University Scholar, Allen, Martin) on top.

More than one award path. Some awards use published academic thresholds. Others have different selection criteria. A score chart does not describe every award at this school.

Academic Grant

$15,000 per year ($60,000 over four years) · Published award terms

GPA: 3.24 or below · SAT: 999 or below · ACT: 18 or below

Eligibility: CLT: 57 or below. This is the guaranteed minimum freshman award; first-time freshmen receive at least $15,000/year.

Renewal: Renewable provided the student maintains a 2.0 College GPA.

Other terms: Lowest automatic tier and the floor of OBU's guaranteed freshman award. Awarded on academic achievement, not financial need.

President's Academic

$16,000 per year ($64,000 over four years) · Published award terms

GPA: 3.25-3.49 · SAT: 1000-1099 · ACT: 19-21

Eligibility: CLT: 58-71. Qualify on any one of the GPA/ACT/SAT/CLT measures.

Renewal: Renewable provided the student maintains a 2.0 College GPA.

Other terms: Awarded automatically based on academic stats; no separate application beyond admission.

Trustee's Academic

$17,000 per year ($68,000 over four years) · Published award terms

GPA: 3.5-3.74 · SAT: 1100-1199 · ACT: 22-24

Eligibility: CLT: 72-82. Qualify on any one of the GPA/ACT/SAT/CLT measures.

Other terms: Awarded automatically based on academic stats; no separate application beyond admission.

Ask before you decide

  1. Which entering-year policy and residency category apply to us? What are the admission and scholarship deadlines?
  2. What grades and credits are required to renew, and for how many terms?
  3. How would other school awards or outside scholarships change the offer?

Recorded stacking policy: OBU-funded scholarships are reduced only when they would exceed a student's OBU charges -- tuition, fees, and on-campus room and board -- a narrower cap than full cost of attendance; total aid overall is separately capped at COA under federal rules.
