Point
Decision sheet

Georgia · Research checked 2026-06-07 · School research, not an aid offer

The starting point

DRAFT: Point automatically considers every applicant for merit scholarships (amounts unpublished) and offers a true full-ride Founders Scholarship — tuition, fees, room and board — to just two students a year, alongside a menu of small capped named awards that mostly exclude athletes and marching band members.

More than one award path. Some awards use published academic thresholds. Others have different selection criteria. A score chart does not describe every award at this school.

Awards to discuss

First 3 of 4 recorded awards, in chapter display order. This is a selection, not a ranking. Read the full chapter for all awards. Amounts retain the original units and conditions; confirm the entering year with the school.

Merit-Based Scholarship

Amount not published · Published award terms

Recorded as automatic on academic criteria; all conditions apply.

GPA: Based on high-school/transfer GPA (no cutoffs published) · SAT: Considered (no cutoffs published) · ACT: Considered (no cutoffs published)

Eligibility: All students seeking enrollment are automatically considered upon completing the regular admission process; no separate application.

Renewal: Not marked as renewable in this record. Ask the school whether renewal is available.

Other terms: The page publishes no amounts or stat grid: 'These scholarship amounts vary and are based on high-school/transfer GPA and SAT-I/ACT scores.' Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis, with determinations made the semester before the start date.

Founders Scholarship

Full tuition, fees, room and board (room & board covers 15-meal plan) · Published coverage or package

Renewal: Renewable based on a 3.5 cumulative GPA at Point for a maximum of four years.

Other terms: Full ride with a meal-plan cap: 'Scholarship covers 15-meal plan. Student will be required to pay difference if 19-meal plan is selected.' Awarded on a rolling basis, determined the semester before start.

Out-of-State Scholarship

$2,500 · Published amount

Not recorded as automatic on grades and scores. Read the selection rules.

GPA: 3.00 high school GPA (can be evaluated prior to graduation; final GPA also reviewed)

Eligibility: Freshmen from outside the state of Georgia. Student athletes and marching band members are not eligible to apply. Maximum of five scholarships will be awarded.

Renewal: Renewable by maintaining a 3.00 GPA at Point University.

Other terms: Capped at five awards — qualifying does not guarantee receiving it.

Ask before you decide

  1. Which entering-year policy and residency category apply to us? What are the admission and scholarship deadlines?
  2. What grades and credits are required to renew, and for how many terms?
  3. How would other school awards or outside scholarships change the offer?
