Pomona
Decision sheet
California · Research checked 2026-07-02 · School research, not an aid offer
The starting point
Top-tier LAC in the Claremont Consortium with 100%-needs-met, no-loan need-based aid and an unusually student-friendly outside-scholarship order — Pomona reduces student contribution, work-study, and parent contribution BEFORE touching the Pomona Scholarship.
Start with the aid policy. This research does not list a merit award. Check the school's financial aid options and application requirements; an empty award list is not proof that no aid is available.
Awards to discuss
No merit awards are listed in this research. Ask the school about need-based aid and any other funding options.
Ask before you decide
- Which entering-year policy and residency category apply to us? What are the admission and scholarship deadlines?
- What grades and credits are required to renew, and for how many terms?
- How would other school awards or outside scholarships change the offer?
Recorded stacking policy: Pomona's published outside-scholarship order is unusually student-favorable: outside awards first reduce the standard student contribution ($1,900 for first-years), then the student work award ($2,800), then the expected parent contribution, and only after all three of those are absorbed does Pomona reduce its own institutional scholarship.
