Purdue Fort Wayne
Decision sheet

Indiana · Research checked 2026-07-02 · School research, not an aid offer

The starting point

Purdue Fort Wayne's automatic GPA-only scholarship is modest ($500-$3,000/yr, tuition-and-fees-restricted, killed in any semester where other tuition-specific aid fully covers tuition) — the real money is the Summit Scholars full rides (Chapman: 6 per year; Doermer for business majors) and automatic reduced-tuition programs for Ohio, contiguous-state, and MSEP students.

More than one award path. Some awards use published academic thresholds. Others have different selection criteria. A score chart does not describe every award at this school.

Purdue Fort Wayne Scholarship (automatic academic scholarship)

In-state: $500-$2,000/yr; Out-of-state: $500-$3,000/yr; Transfer: $750-$1,500/yr · Published range

Recorded as automatic on academic criteria; all conditions apply.

GPA: 3.5+ → $2,000 in-state / $3,000 OOS / $1,500 transfer; 3.0-3.49 → $1,000 / $2,000 / $1,000; 2.5-2.99 → $500 / $500 / $750

Eligibility: Undergraduate, full-time, first-time or transfer; no separate application — 'If you qualify, you will be notified by the Office of Financial Aid once you are admitted'; domestic fall admits must be committed (enrollment deposit) and have all transcripts submitted per published deadlines; GPA from official final HS transcript (first-time) or most recent college (transfer); home GPA bands per the published grid (fall 2022 and on)

Renewal: Renewable while pursuing the first bachelor's degree with continuous enrollment, 24 resident credit hours completed at PFW each academic year (earned hours), and good standing for satisfactory academic progress. Must be registered full-time each semester — 'if credit hours are under full-time enrollment, your scholarship value for the term will be removed from your account.' Value split equally between fall and spring; not available in summer; spring admits get half value the first term (renewal then requires 12 resident credit hours).

Other terms: TUITION/FEES ONLY: 'Award is applicable to tuition and regularly assessed fees only. If your tuition is fully covered by other tuition specific aid, not including State of Indiana aid, you will not be eligible for the Purdue Fort Wayne Scholarship in that specific semester/aid year.' Stackable with 21st Century Scholars and CVO 'to just pay tuition and mandatory fees.' Donor scholarships may REPLACE the PFW Scholarship amount; not all scholarships are stackable.

Ask before you decide

  1. Which entering-year policy and residency category apply to us? What are the admission and scholarship deadlines?
  2. What grades and credits are required to renew, and for how many terms?
  3. How would other school awards or outside scholarships change the offer?

Recorded stacking policy: The available excerpt is generic explanatory content about how outside scholarships and overawards work broadly; it does not state Purdue University Fort Wayne's specific reduction order, cap, or which aid type gets cut first. Confirm treatment with the aid office before counting on stacking.
