Quinnipiac
Decision sheet

Connecticut · Research checked 2026-07-02 · School research, not an aid offer

The starting point

Quinnipiac automatically awards first-year academic scholarships of $23,000-$34,000 (frozen at the same dollar amount every year) during admission, with town-resident and sibling awards that are mutually exclusive with other tuition aid.

Selection beyond grades and scores. These awards are not recorded as automatic on grades and scores. Read each award's selection rules, application steps and dates. Meeting a minimum is not an award offer.

Awards to discuss

The 3 awards in this school's research. Amounts retain the original units and conditions; confirm the entering year with the school.

First-Year Student Academic Scholarships

$23,000-$34,000 · Published range

Not recorded as automatic on grades and scores. Read the selection rules.

Eligibility: Awarded by the Office of Admissions based on overall academic achievement; automatic with admission, no separate forms; only offered to incoming students in their initial year

Renewal: Renewed each year at the SAME amount, provided the student stays enrolled full-time and meets the renewal criteria stated in the acceptance letter. Dropping below full-time or below the minimum cumulative GPA leads to discontinuation (appeal/reinstatement possible after an additional semester).

Other terms: Amount is frozen — it does not increase year to year. Two official QU pages (the scholarships-and-grants hub and the dedicated first-year scholarship page) both state $23,000-$34,000.

Transfer Student Academic Scholarship

$26,000-$32,000 · Published range

Not recorded as automatic on grades and scores. Read the selection rules.

Eligibility: Full-time, on-ground transfer candidates automatically reviewed during admissions; includes a Phi Theta Kappa award

Renewal: Renewed at the same amount with continued full-time enrollment and renewal criteria; discontinued if below full-time or minimum GPA.

Other terms: Automatic with admission; includes a PTK award for eligible transfers.

Quinnipiac Town Scholarship (Hamden and North Haven Residents)

75% of full-time tuition · Published coverage or package

Not recorded as automatic on grades and scores. Read the selection rules.

Eligibility: Select admitted students who are residents of the town of Hamden or North Haven, CT

Renewal: Standard academic-scholarship renewal terms apply.

Other terms: Offered IN PLACE OF other academic scholarships — not in addition to them. Residency-gated and mutually exclusive with the academic scholarship.

Ask before you decide

  1. Which entering-year policy and residency category apply to us? What are the admission and scholarship deadlines?
  2. What grades and credits are required to renew, and for how many terms?
  3. How would other school awards or outside scholarships change the offer?

Recorded stacking policy: Total aid is capped at the cost of attendance (the COA 'represents the maximum financial aid you may receive'). Additional resources — athletic scholarships, Tuition Exchange grants, veterans benefits, outside scholarships, etc. — may affect the aid calculated. The Multiple Sibling Award is a tuition-only benefit that cannot be used on top of other tuition benefits or toward housing/fees/indirect costs. Town scholarships are awarded in place of other academic scholarships.
