Regent Online
Decision sheet

Virginia · Research checked 2026-07-02 · School research, not an aid offer

The starting point

Regent's online undergraduates see small, affiliation-based awards (a $250 SuccessPath book voucher, $750/yr community-college transfer awards, a $250/credit ROTC rate) under a strict one-award-only rule — while the big named money (Freedom, Homeschool, Private School, donor full-tuition funds) is pitched at incoming freshmen.

Selection beyond grades and scores. These awards are not recorded as automatic on grades and scores. Read each award's selection rules, application steps and dates. Meeting a minimum is not an award offer.

Awards to discuss

First 3 of 6 recorded awards, in chapter display order. This is a selection, not a ranking. Read the full chapter for all awards. Amounts retain the original units and conditions; confirm the entering year with the school.

SuccessPath Scholarship

$250 · Published amount

Not recorded as automatic on grades and scores. Read the selection rules.

Eligibility: New, degree-seeking online students pursuing bachelor's degrees; must enroll in classes and complete KEYS Online Orientation before course start; deadlines and requirements apply

Renewal: Limited to one SuccessPath award in the first semester at Regent.

Other terms: Delivered as a $250 book voucher for the first semester.

Virginia Community College Award

$750 · Published amount

Not recorded as automatic on grades and scores. Read the selection rules.

Eligibility: Earned an A.A., A.S., or AAS degree from a Virginia Community College System (VCCS) school; disbursement requires at least half-time enrollment (6+ credit hours per semester)

Renewal: Award renewals require the maintenance of good academic standing as noted in the Undergraduate Catalog; renewals occur automatically each year after the conclusion of the spring term.

Other terms: $750 annually split between fall, spring and summer semesters. CAUTION: the page states award options are 'for new students who enroll for the 2018-2019 academic year' — confirm current-year availability.

North Carolina Community College Award

$750 · Published amount

Not recorded as automatic on grades and scores. Read the selection rules.

Eligibility: Earned an A.A., A.S., or AAS degree from a North Carolina Community College in the state system

Renewal: Same structure as the Virginia award: $750 annually split across fall, spring, and summer.

Other terms: Same staleness caution as the Virginia award (page references 2018-2019 entrants).

Ask before you decide

  1. Which entering-year policy and residency category apply to us? What are the admission and scholarship deadlines?
  2. What grades and credits are required to renew, and for how many terms?
  3. How would other school awards or outside scholarships change the offer?

Recorded stacking policy: On the evening/online awards page, students eligible for multiple listed awards may receive only ONE — Regent picks whichever is the largest/most beneficial — with the Church Match Grant as the sole stated exception that can combine with any listed award. All scholarships and grants pay toward tuition only, and COA caps total aid from all sources.

The research date is not a guarantee that a policy still applies. Confirm current amounts, deadlines and conditions with the school before making a financial decision.
