Saint Louis U
Decision sheet

Missouri · Research checked 2026-07-02 · School research, not an aid offer

The starting point

Jesuit research university with one of the country's most generous published merit ladders — four automatic tiers reaching $39,000 per year and a full-tuition Presidential Scholarship for top competitive applicants.

More than one award path. Some awards use published academic thresholds. Others have different selection criteria. A score chart does not describe every award at this school.

Awards to discuss

Vice Presidents' Scholarship

Up to $19,500 per semester (up to ~$39,000 per year, up to $195,000 over 10 semesters) · Variable or qualified amount

Recorded as automatic on academic criteria; all conditions apply.

Eligibility: Awarded automatically based on previous academic performance. Priority deadline December 1 (admission application). No separate scholarship application required.

Renewal: Renewable for 10 consecutive full-time fall and spring semesters as long as the recipient maintains a 2.0 GPA.

Other terms: SLU's top automatic tier. Selection criteria are evaluated holistically rather than via a published stat ladder.

Ask before you decide

  1. Which entering-year policy and residency category apply to us? What are the admission and scholarship deadlines?
  2. What grades and credits are required to renew, and for how many terms?
  3. How would other school awards or outside scholarships change the offer?

Recorded stacking policy: SLU requires students to report outside scholarships and notes that each award is governed by its own donor-specified limits (e.g., tuition-restricted vs cost-of-attendance restricted). The public site does not publish a single displacement formula — call the Office of Student Financial Services before assuming a large outside award will stack on top of the Vice Presidents' or Presidential tier.
