TCU
Decision sheet

Texas · Research checked 2026-07-02 · School research, not an aid offer

The starting point

Private Disciples of Christ university in Fort Worth with a six-tier named merit ladder, five tiers automatic on admission review and a competitive Chancellor's Scholarship decided at a February interview weekend, plus STEM, performance, and Honors College money stacked on top up to cost of attendance.

More than one award path. Some awards use published academic thresholds. Others have different selection criteria. A score chart does not describe every award at this school.

Awards to discuss

First 3 of 9 recorded awards, in chapter display order. This is a selection, not a ranking. Read the full chapter for all awards. Amounts retain the original units and conditions; confirm the entering year with the school.

Dean's Scholarship

$32,000/year · Published amount

Recorded as automatic on academic criteria; all conditions apply.

Renewal: Up to 8 semesters. Renewal requires 24 graded hours per academic year, cumulative 3.0 GPA after year one, cumulative 3.25 GPA thereafter.

Other terms: Automatic based on admission review; no separate scholarship application. TCU does not publish GPA or SAT/ACT thresholds for this tier, stating only that awards are based on strength of curriculum, test scores, and other competitive criteria.

Ask before you decide

  1. Which entering-year policy and residency category apply to us? What are the admission and scholarship deadlines?
  2. What grades and credits are required to renew, and for how many terms?
  3. How would other school awards or outside scholarships change the offer?

Recorded stacking policy: Outside scholarships count as resources in the total aid package. TCU reduces loans and work-study first when possible, then adjusts grants and scholarships if needed, and total aid may not exceed cost of attendance. Institutional merit plus National Merit is separately capped at the cost of tuition.

The research date is not a guarantee that a policy still applies. Confirm current amounts, deadlines and conditions with the school before making a financial decision.
