Warner Pacific
Decision sheet

Oregon · Research checked 2026-07-02 · School research, not an aid offer

The starting point

Warner Pacific (Church of God-affiliated, Portland OR) keeps merit simple: a published three-band GPA grid topping out at $5,000, plus a $3,000 SAI-gated need scholarship, a $500/semester church match, and a $2,500 City Builders community-leadership cohort — on one of the lowest private tuitions in the region (~$24,850 with fees).

More than one award path. Some awards use published academic thresholds. Others have different selection criteria. A score chart does not describe every award at this school.

Awards to discuss

The 3 awards in this school's research. Amounts retain the original units and conditions; confirm the entering year with the school.

Warner Pacific Scholarship (merit GPA grid)

$1,000-$5,000 · Published range

Recorded as automatic on academic criteria; all conditions apply.

GPA: 3.5+: $5,000; 3.0-3.49: $3,500; 2.75-2.99: $1,000; below 2.75: $0 (unweighted cumulative, high school or transfer)

Eligibility: Must be admitted to the traditional undergraduate program, enroll full-time, and be working toward a first bachelor's degree

Renewal: Automatically renews each year for up to four years (eight semesters), as long as the student maintains satisfactory academic progress and is enrolled full-time.

Other terms: Spring-start students receive HALF of the annual amount in their first year. BSN-pathway students must complete at least 45 credits at Warner Pacific before becoming eligible for institutional merit scholarships.

Need-Based Scholarship

$3,000 · Published amount

Not recorded as automatic on grades and scores. Read the selection rules.

Eligibility: Student Aid Index (SAI) between -1,500 and 10,000, determined by FAFSA, ORSAA, or WPU Need Application

Renewal: Complete the FAFSA, ORSAA, or WPU Need Application each academic year to determine eligibility.

Other terms: Need-gated, not merit — included because it is part of WPU's core institutional scholarship package alongside the merit grid.

City Builders Scholars

$2,500 · Published amount

Other terms: The City Builder application for the 2026-27 award year is now CLOSED; it reopens for the 2027-28 award year.

Ask before you decide

  1. Which entering-year policy and residency category apply to us? What are the admission and scholarship deadlines?
  2. What grades and credits are required to renew, and for how many terms?
  3. How would other school awards or outside scholarships change the offer?

Recorded stacking policy: Treatment of outside scholarships explicitly differs by aid type or program; see the sourced policy excerpt for the split.
