Wofford
Decision sheet

South Carolina · Research checked 2026-07-02 · School research, not an aid offer

The starting point

Wofford evaluates every applicant automatically for merit scholarships ($15,000-$30,000/year, plus several $100,000 full-four-year awards) — but a comprehensive-fee cap means gift aid (including outside scholarships) can't exceed your billable costs plus a book allowance unless you take loans.

Selection beyond grades and scores. These awards are not recorded as automatic on grades and scores. Read each award's selection rules, application steps and dates. Meeting a minimum is not an award offer.

Awards to discuss

First 3 of 8 recorded awards, in chapter display order. This is a selection, not a ranking. Read the full chapter for all awards. Amounts retain the original units and conditions; confirm the entering year with the school.

Ask before you decide

  1. Which entering-year policy and residency category apply to us? What are the admission and scholarship deadlines?
  2. What grades and credits are required to renew, and for how many terms?
  3. How would other school awards or outside scholarships change the offer?

Recorded stacking policy: Comprehensive-fee cap: for a boarding student, gift aid (federal/state/institutional grants and scholarships) may not exceed the total comprehensive fee (tuition, fees, food and housing) plus a book allowance; for a day student, scholarships/grants may not exceed tuition + fees + a book allowance — unless the student uses student/parent loans. Outside scholarships must be reported and the package recalculated; when the cap would be exceeded, the Wofford scholarship/grant is reduced. Scholarships are available for a total of eight semesters.
