Georgetown
Decision sheet
District of Columbia · Research checked 2026-05-13 · School research, not an aid offer
The starting point
Jesuit private with a categorical no-merit policy and a published displacement order that DOES reduce Georgetown's own need-based scholarship after student contribution, loans, and work-study — uniquely unfavorable for students winning sizeable outside awards.
Start with the aid policy. This research does not list a merit award. Check the school's financial aid options and application requirements; an empty award list is not proof that no aid is available.
Awards to discuss
No merit awards are listed in this research. Ask the school about need-based aid and any other funding options.
Ask before you decide
- Which entering-year policy and residency category apply to us? What are the admission and scholarship deadlines?
- What grades and credits are required to renew, and for how many terms?
- How would other school awards or outside scholarships change the offer?
Recorded stacking policy: Georgetown publishes a four-step displacement order for outside scholarships: student expected contribution, federal loan, federal work-study/campus employment, then University need-based scholarship. Unlike Brown, Georgetown WILL reduce its own grant once self-help is fully displaced.
