Renewal risk profile

Elon's published renewal rules cluster around a 3.0 floor with no major-GPA gating, which is survivable for the typical freshman with steady study habits. The risk is non-renewal due to enrollment status (dropping below full-time), not GPA.

How much is the Elon Honors Program worth and how many students get it?
Each year 60 students are selected for the Honors Program. They receive a $15,000 scholarship plus a $12,000 Presidential Scholarship for $27,000 per year — $108,000 over four years — plus a $1,000 Global Study grant and a $1,000 thesis-research grant. Selection is based on high school records, essays, teacher recommendations, and a faculty interview.

How Elon compares across our verified dataset

  • 178 of 203 verified schools publish at least one four-year renewable merit award.

Elon is one of them. The cohort minority (25 schools) only awards one-year scholarships, which means the four-year value families assume on a brochure quote isn't guaranteed at every school.
