Florida Southern Merit Aid

1. Assuming all FSC scholarships share one renewal GPA+

   Each named award has its OWN cumulative-GPA renewal floor (per the FSC Terms & Conditions): Hollingsworth 3.3, McClurg/Jenkins 3.0, Pfeiffer/Christoverson/Danforth 2.75, Watson/Ordway/Buckner 2.5, Lockett/Roux/Transfer 2.2. Fall below your award's floor and you forfeit it.

2. Expecting to drop to a lower scholarship tier if your GPA slips+

   FSC states 'Students do not move from one academic scholarship level to another academic scholarship level.' If you miss your tier's renewal GPA you lose the scholarship outright — you are not bumped down a rung.

3. Changing majors without checking your scholarship+

   'FSC scholarships specific to a student's major will be forfeited if the student changes majors. Those scholarships will not be replaced with other FSC funds.'

4. Assuming outside scholarships always add on top of FSC aid+

   FSC 'reserves the right to adjust academic scholarships if students receive scholarships from multiple sources to keep within college packaging parameters,' so an outside award can trigger a reduction of institutional aid.

5. Treating the published $62,800 as full cost of attendance+

   The tuition page lists '2026-2027 Annual Direct Costs' (Tuition+Fees $47,670 + Food+Housing $15,130 = $62,800). This is a direct-cost figure only — it excludes books, transportation, and personal expenses, so it is not the full COA.

6. Thinking the Prestige/Hollingsworth award is automatic+

   Unlike the seven named merit tiers (automatic with admission), the Hollingsworth/McClurg/Christoverson Prestige awards require a separate application, essay, and finalist interview, with a priority deadline of Nov 1 / final Jan 3.

Strong-stats students (the top tiers want high GPA + rigor) who can hold their specific scholarship's renewal GPA; top-10% applicants with 3.5+ GPA and 29 ACT/1330 SAT who apply by the Prestige deadline can compete for the Hollingsworth full ride.

Every tier below is sourced to the school’s own published financial aid pages. Renewal terms apply only if the student maintains the stated GPA.

FSC reserves the right to reduce institutional academic scholarships if a student receives scholarships from multiple sources, to stay within college packaging parameters. FSC Grants and Academic Scholarships are likely replaced with donor funds (a thank-you letter is then required). Major-specific scholarships are forfeited if the student changes majors and are NOT replaced.
