    Admission index minimum 310 (Colegio de Ciencias) or 300 (other Colleges); CEEB: 3000+ global on the PEAU with 500+ in all five areas, OR 1800+ global on the PAA with 600+ in all three areas. FAFSA filing is an institutional requirement.

    Must maintain a general GPA of no less than 3.50, earn no grade below C in any course, file the FAFSA (required regardless of aid eligibility), and participate in academic-enrichment and Program activities.

    Benefits: tuition exemption up to 15 credits/semester + 6 summer credits (applied AFTER federal and state grants are credited), the university fee (cuota), housing exemption in university residences for non-Ponce residents, and a book stipend up to $200/year. What families often miss

  1. Funds are awarded 'por promedio e índice de admisión en orden de mayor a menor hasta alcanzar los fondos presupuestados' — top-down until the budget runs out. Meeting the minimum does not assure an award, and the program 'puede variar anualmente' with fund availability.

  2. Rule 1 of the Aplicaciones Generales: an Honor Program student 'no puede tener duplicidad de beneficios al participar de otras Becas Génesis.'

  3. If a student qualifies for both, only 'la de mayor beneficio económico' (the higher-value one) is applied.

  4. The exemption 'se aplica luego de acreditar las becas federales y estatales' — federal/state grants are credited first and the exemption covers what remains, so it displaces rather than stacks.

  5. Honor renewal requires a 3.50 GPA AND a grade 'no menor de C, en todos los cursos' — a single grade below C breaks eligibility even with a high overall GPA.

  6. 'En ningún momento dicha beca puede exceder la necesidad económica del becado' — the athletic award is capped at demonstrated financial need, and it does not apply in summer.

  7. Talent becas pay only for books/materials through the campus bookstore, and the first semester in the group is probationary 'sin asignación de fondos' (no funds).

  8. FAFSA filing is 'requisito institucional ... independientemente de que el estudiante cualifique o no para asistencia económica.'

  9. BETA carries an income gate: annual income 'no mayor del 80% de la mediana de ingreso en el hogar' — academic talent alone does not qualify.

But Honor cannot combine with any other Génesis, Nuevo Ingreso and Escuelas Católicas don't stack, and faculty-children tuition exemptions block tuition-exemption Génesis awards.
